Layers Of Colours
Layers of Colours is a residential interior design created for a young couple and their cats in Taichung, Taiwan. The apartment was partially renovated to provide large storage and an open view within a small floor area. Colour is used as the main medium. The living room floor combines two types of scratch-resistant timber flooring that extend to the dining area wall to mark the interior zones. The television wall uses white masonry with bright yellow plates, while the sofa wall is blue. Hidden doors keep the walls clean and support a flowing circulation.
Layers Of Colours Residence by MING RU LI was identified as an exceptional illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Awards. Layers Of Colours Residence won the Iron A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2020. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, meritocratic, just and fair design competition that rewards exceptional design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
