Space Approach
Space Approach is a residential interior design created for a home shared by one person and a cat. The unit is over thirty years old and was fully reorganized in Taipei, Taiwan. Three bedrooms were combined into a single room, and the remaining area was opened as a study. The living room, dining room and study are joined through flexible doors, walls and storage. A main wall of wood, double glazing and metal pieces serves as a bookcase and includes a low passage for the cat. Arched ceilings reduce the visual weight of the existing beams.
Space Approach Residential House by MA ,KAI-CHUN was highlighted as an innovative example of architectural design by the A' Design Awards. Space Approach Residential House earned the Iron A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2020. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, meritocratic, just and fair design competition that celebrates excellent design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
