Happiness with Woods
Constituting Happiness with Woods is a residential interior design for a 120 square meter apartment in Taichung. Wood is applied widely on the walls, floors, doors and furniture to create a warm and consistent atmosphere. A large table of solid wood and cast iron is joined to the kitchen island in an L shape and extends toward the window. The rectangular public area is divided symmetrically into a living room and a dining room. A sliding door links the living room to a Japanese style area, so the space can be opened or kept private as needed.
Happiness with Woods Residential Flat by Wei-Cheng Tsai and Li-Yung Chen was selected as an outstanding example of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is a juried, academic and highly prestigious design competition which rewards exceptional design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
