Birth of a Royal Library
Titled: The Corvina Library and the Buda Workshop, the exhibition was organized in the National Szechenyi Library, Budapest. At the heart of the space, in 3 rooms, 67 stunning books were on display from the Bibliotheca Corvina, established by King Mathias in the 15th century. Upon arrival a giant vellum - the material of medieval manuscripts – was placed with the general introduction. A similar interim space, a reading area, a so-called Library was created on the way out of the exhibition rooms. Thus, the visitor journey resonated with the theme of the exhibition: Birth of a Royal Library.
Birth of a Royal Library Exhibition by Maria Gazdag was selected as an outstanding representation of architectural design by the A' Design Award. Birth of a Royal Library Exhibition won the Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2020. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, meritocratic, just and fair design recognition program that honors superior design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
