Nostalgia
Nostalgia is a custom clothing boutique inspired by Suzhou classical gardens. The interior combines traditional Chinese craft references with contemporary neo-Chinese design. Fitting rooms are placed behind plum blossom shaped screens. After changing, customers walk from the back courtyard to the front hall, where tea is served and guqin music is played. Display cabinets are made of solid wood joined with mortise and tenon structures, which require no nails or glue. The design aims to make classical dress appealing to young visitors.
Nostalgia Boutique by WEIWEI ZHANG was selected as an outstanding representation of architectural design by the A' Design Awards. Nostalgia Boutique won the Iron A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2026. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is a highly prestigious international design prize that recognizes excellent design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
