Belle Epoque
Belle Epoque is a duplex residential interior located beside a river in Taiwan. The long and narrow plan is opened with horizontal and vertical openings and mirrored ceilings, which extend the lines of the space and increase the sense of height. Decorative details follow Italian and French architectural influences, and a soft color palette adds artistic elegance. Smart lighting and air conditioning systems are concealed within the linear facades. On the second floor, an open corridor between two bedrooms also serves as an overhead cinema.
Belle Epoque Residence by Fang Ming Lo was recognized as an innovative example of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Belle Epoque Residence received the Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2026. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is a juried, academic and highly prestigious design competition which rewards exceptional design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
