Ripple of Knowledge
Ripple of Knowledge is a school library interior located in Taipei City. The concept of ripples serves as the central theme of the design. Curved elements define the different zones, while low cabinets work as storage, seating and space dividers, keeping the space open and visually continuous. Curved cabinets and flowing light strips guide circulation. A curved counter faces the main entrance at the center, so the librarian can oversee all areas. A corner with long curved bookshelves, a projector and a screen forms a stage for teaching and events.
Ripple of Knowledge Library by Daisuke Nagatomo and Minnie Jan was featured as an outstanding example of architectural design by the A' Design Award. Ripple of Knowledge Library was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2025. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design award that honors excellent design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
