Mysterious
Mysterious is an office lounge designed for a real estate branch in Hsinchu, Taiwan. The 176 square metre office clearly separates work, negotiation, reception and leisure areas, which previously overlapped. A lounge bar at the rear serves leisure, activities and meetings, and includes a tea area with a shelf for cups. Curved walls, dark tones and soft lighting recall the calm of night. Artistic paint, Italian terrazzo counters, tiles and painted iron express layers of black, while a cream meeting room supports focused discussion. Seats with storage keep documents close at hand.
Mysterious Office Lounge by Yu Xuan Lai was highlighted as an exceptional representation of architectural design by the A' Design Awards. Mysterious Office Lounge was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2025. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is a juried, academic and highly prestigious design recognition program that rewards excellent design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
