Tranquility
Tranquility is a residential interior design for a 92.5 square meter apartment with three rooms and two bathrooms in Taiwan. The original layout and the high ceiling were preserved. Textured gray artistic paint, applied by hand, covers the walls and the ceiling. Solid wood, wooden flooring, plants and earthy tones complete the wabi-sabi character. A protruding panel behind the television conceals cables. A custom three-sided, full-height cabinet at the entrance provides storage and separates areas. The design aims to offer a calm place for rest.
Tranquility Residence by Yen-Hsiang Wang has been identified as a grand representation of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Tranquility Residence won the Iron A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2025. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, meritocratic, just and fair design recognition program which recognizes superior design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
