Stranger Box
Stranger Box is a residential interior design completed in Taiwan in 2024. Bold vertical columns and inclined supports guide movement, connect the different areas and conceal functional compartments. Sloped lines reorganize the layout, so that even a modest space offers visual interest from both frontal and lateral views. A grayscale scheme with gray and white walls defines the character of the home, while RGB light strips allow changing visual effects. Healthy, non toxic building materials were selected to reduce carbon emissions and formaldehyde levels.
Stranger Box Residential House by YEH CHUN-PENG was selected as an exceptional representation of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Stranger Box Residential House was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2025. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, jury-voted, fair and ethical design award which honors exceptional design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
