Yacht Aesthetics
Yacht Aesthetics is a private residence that also serves as a private club. The interior takes its tone from a luxury yacht. Curved surfaces wrap the living room and connect it with the dining room and the kitchen island, which is arranged like a bar. Small areas are set aside to display sculptures, and a large painted wall can be rotated to change the artwork on view. Hidden storage keeps the rooms clear. Materials include natural marble, oak, solid wood, titanium plating and stainless steel. The study ceiling combines titanium plating with folded metal panels and solid wood.
Yacht Aesthetics Residence by Sheng-Lin Kao has been highlighted as an outstanding illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Award. Yacht Aesthetics Residence was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2024. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is a highly prestigious, international, juried design award which rewards excellent design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
