Terrace to The Sky
Terrace to The Sky is a residential interior located in the Wanhua district of Taipei. The design renovates a forty-year-old duplex on the fourth and fifth floors, with a total area of 180 square meters. Materials found during demolition guided the new work, and exposed red bricks were replaced with glass bricks of the same size to let daylight pass through. Movable curtains and sliding doors connect or separate the rooms. Folding floor-to-ceiling windows open the living area to a planted rooftop terrace.
Terrace to The Sky Residence by Chinhua Huang has been identified as an innovative example of architectural design by the A' Design Awards. Terrace to The Sky Residence earned the Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2024. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, meritocratic, just and fair design recognition program which rewards excellent design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
