Green Nest
Green Nest is a residential apartment interior located in New Taipei City, Taiwan. The 85 square meter home contains two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a work studio and an open area for living, dining and cooking. Deep beams of different heights made the small space feel oppressive. Varied ceiling designs with hollowed sections create light and shadow effects and add focal points. Terrazzo flooring links the foyer, kitchen and dining area, while reeded glass gives the studio both light and privacy. Wood and mineral paint add depth, and curved forms improve flow and safety.
Green Nest Residential Apartment by Yu Lin Hsu was identified as an outstanding illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Green Nest Residential Apartment received the Iron A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2024. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, jury-voted, fair and ethical design competition that rewards exceptional design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
