Metro
Metro is an interior design for a hair salon in Taiwan. The layout is planned around a central color bar that connects all areas and supports the frequent movement of staff and equipment. The original concrete ceiling is retained and combined with gray and white walls, off-white ironwork and light gray polished quartz tiles. Saturated orange seats add contrast within the neutral tones. Two large floor-to-ceiling windows bring in natural light, and 5800K LED lighting evenly illuminates the working area for hair coloring.
Metro Salon by KUN-SEN CHANG was recognized as an outstanding illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Award. Metro Salon received the Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2024. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is a highly prestigious, international, juried design competition that honors excellent design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
