Dongyu Logistics
Dongyu Logistics is an office lobby in a mixed-use building in Dongyu Logistics Park in Yiwu, Zhejiang, China. The interior covers 475 square meters and takes inspiration from the bar code and the shipping container, two familiar elements of the logistics industry. Four columns that once stood in isolation are linked to the wider structure, and separate routes for walking and waiting are formed. Aluminium oxide panels make the columns look lighter, while marble and aluminium meet to add layers and detail. Blue and red mark the two restrooms.
Dongyu Logistics Office Lobby by Simon Cheng has been highlighted as a grand example of architectural design by the A' Design Awards. Dongyu Logistics Office Lobby earned the Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2023. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is a juried, academic and highly prestigious design competition that rewards outstanding design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
