The Story Begins
The Story Begins is a residential interior design project completed in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The design transforms a twenty eight year old unit into a new home. The original unit had exposed beams, a low ceiling and an impractical structure. A total remodel reorganized the layout to balance practical needs with aesthetic intent. Each space is personalized to suit the character of the client, described as bold and curious. The interior offers a sense of tranquility together with surprising elements. Work took place between November 2021 and February 2022.
The Story Begins Interior Design by CX SOON has been featured as an outstanding illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Awards. The Story Begins Interior Design earned the Iron A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2022. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design recognition program which celebrates excellent design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
