Whyte Woolf Fitness Club

Whyte Woolf

Whyte Woolf is a fitness club interior located in a large shopping center in Chongqing, China. The space covers 2,100 square meters. The design follows a minimalist approach inspired by concrete and by the wabi-sabi idea of simple and imperfect beauty. Original inverted cement columns and wall sections were retained after careful site measurement and photography, so the interior stays simple without being ordinary. Materials include galvanized snow plate, light steel keel cement pressure plate, micro-cement hole brick and log packaging board, all selected as low-carbon options.

Whyte Woolf Fitness Club by Arthur Yang was featured as an outstanding illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Awards. Whyte Woolf Fitness Club received the Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2022. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is a highly prestigious international design competition that honors exceptional design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
