Owndays
Owndays is a residential interior design for an old apartment in Taipei, Taiwan. The home covers about 82 square meters and holds one living room, three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a kitchen and a laundry balcony. The design is inspired by the exoskeleton of a rhinoceros. Protruding shapes on the main facade are reduced, which improves safety for children. Large areas of artificial leather and wall covering are divided by titanium-plated metal lines. Doors and separate functions are hidden along these dividing lines, so each space reads as a complete surface.
Owndays Interior Design by Chen Wei Chun was highlighted as an innovative example of architectural design by the A' Design Award. Owndays Interior Design won the Iron A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2022. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, jury-voted, fair and ethical design accolade which celebrates superior design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
