Interaction
Newton's Cradle is a 226 square meter residential interior in Macau, completed in August 2021. The design takes its name from the swinging spheres of a Newton's cradle, used as a symbol of shared energy and family interaction. Arches, curved lines and ovals appear across the rooms, turning flat shapes into three-dimensional forms when viewed from different angles. Large original windows bring in daylight and reduce the need for electric lighting. Wallpaper and artificial leather replace stone, and the open public area limits the use of partitions.
Interaction Residence by Clement Tung Jeun Cheng has been highlighted as an exceptional illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Award. Interaction Residence earned the Iron A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2022. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design accolade that recognizes exceptional design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
