Dance of Light
The Dance of Light is a residential interior for a two story home with a six meter tall space. A floating staircase fixed to the wall stands in front of large windows, reducing the volumes that block movement and forming an open square layout. Hanging timber steps and a glass railing let daylight filter through, while a section of glass flooring guides light to the second floor. The area under the staircase serves as a rest and play space. Integrating the bathroom and kitchen wall removes awkward corners and enlarges the usable area.
Dance of Light Residential Apartment by Ching Hsiang Peng was recognized as an outstanding representation of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Dance of Light Residential Apartment received the Iron A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2022. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, meritocratic, just and fair design award that celebrates outstanding design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
