Exotic Mashups
Exotic Mashups is a residential interior design created for a model house of about 70 pings in Taoyuan, Taiwan. The layout joins colonial style with a mix of eastern and western elements. Vintage furniture collected in southeast Asia is placed across the rooms. Warm wooden and ivory tones, a framed barrel headboard and a button trimmed sofa define the character of the space. Large French windows draw daylight inside and reveal the outdoor area. A sunken balcony links the main bedroom with the open living, dining and kitchen area.
Exotic Mashups Residential by Shin-Lan Chao has been selected as an exceptional illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Award. Exotic Mashups Residential was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2022. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, jury-voted, fair and ethical design competition that celebrates outstanding design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
