A Dance of Light and Shadow
A Dance of Light and Shadow is an office interior on the first floor of a community building in the downtown area of Taoyuan, Taiwan. The office covers 149 square meters and faces a park with trees, wind and water. Large windows bring daylight and greenery into the interior. Instead of traditional partitions, wooden grilles, bordered glass panels and iron cabinets divide the space and keep it open and ventilated. Black iron parts and gray-black wood veneers form an industrial tone. The design also limits the use of plastic products.
A Dance of Light and Shadow Office by Hui Hsuan Lin has been identified as a creative representation of architectural design by the A' Design Awards. A Dance of Light and Shadow Office received the Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2022. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, jury-voted, fair and ethical design accolade which recognizes superior design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
