History Unfolds
History Unfolds is the interior design of a restaurant of about 330 square meters in Nantou County, Taiwan. The facade combines interwoven wooden bars with solid stone. The stone suggests permanence, while the wood suggests flexibility and hospitality. Inside, a counter shows the menu clearly, and wooden panels present the history of the restaurant. Sliding glass doors offer privacy and still let light pass through. Bamboo ceiling lamps and indirect lighting create a simple and comfortable atmosphere.
History Unfolds Restaurant by Yu-Ting Chang has been selected as an exceptional representation of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. History Unfolds Restaurant earned the Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2022. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, jury-voted, fair and ethical design prize that recognizes superior design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
