The True Knight Gaute
The True Knight Gaute is a bespoke tailoring store interior in Taipei, Taiwan, covering 121.5 square meters. The design moves away from the traditional image of the classical British tailor shop and uses curated modern elements. A strong-colored modern painting at the entrance forms a focal point. A semi-finished suit on a dummy, made of two contrasting fabrics, shows sewing and tailoring techniques. A transparent showcase at the rear opens a view of the tailor studio, where pattern making and cutting can be seen from outside.
The True Knight Gaute Commercial Space by Millton Yu was identified as an exceptional example of architectural design by the A' Design Awards. The True Knight Gaute Commercial Space received the Iron A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2021. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, jury-voted, fair and ethical design prize that honors exceptional design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
