White for Elegance
White for Elegance is a residential interior design for a 73 square meter apartment in Taipei, Taiwan. The renovation of a 30-year-old home follows a Scandinavian approach, with a white base, dark brown floors and muted colors. Dark wooden furniture, metal pendant lamps and metal chair legs add visual weight and shine. Hexagonal tiles cover the entrance and the kitchen floor, where the surface is more resistant to stains. A glass partition lets the study share daylight with the bedroom, and a lower back wall brings natural light deeper into the space.
White for Elegance Residential Space by Hsin-Hui Chang has been identified as a creative example of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. White for Elegance Residential Space was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2021. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design recognition program that recognizes exceptional design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
