MaGnesium Hub
MaGnesium Hub is a concept design for an outpost of the National Geographic Society in Presidio, a historic neighborhood in San Francisco. The mixed-use commercial space includes an exhibition area, a cafe and a workplace, set in a two-story building overlooking the Golden Gate Bridge. The design is inspired by early flash photography, in which burning magnesium powder created light. The first level is dim, as before a flash, and the second level is bright, as after a flash. Circulation, lobby and exhibition areas are planned for both function and appearance.
MaGnesium Hub Exhibition by Chia Yu Tung was featured as an innovative illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. MaGnesium Hub Exhibition was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2021. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, jury-voted, fair and ethical design recognition program that honors superior design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
