City Forest
City Forest is a residential interior design for a 128 square metre home in Taichung, Taiwan. The layout is open, and warm light gives the rooms a bright and calm character. Colourful objects add contrast and bring out the different layers of the space. Eco-friendly decorative paint covers the living room walls, while the bedroom cabinets are made of wood-based panels. The flooring uses non-timber forest products. A three-sided door frame at the entryway and textured sliding door panels unify the appearance and improve the flow.
City Forest Residential Space by Chien-Neng Chang has been featured as a creative illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. City Forest Residential Space was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2021. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design accolade that rewards superior design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
