East Sea
East Sea is a villa interior designed for a family of three generations living under one roof. The interior responds to the living habits of people born in different eras and creates a shared space for family communication. Traditional Chinese elements are used, including a symmetrical layout, mountain and river landscape backgrounds, grilled air conditioning outlets and freehand brushwork paintings. The main materials are logs and gray marble. Wood surfaces are finished only with wax or oil to limit pollutants. The villa covers 420 square meters over three stories.
East Sea Villa by Fangyong Xie was highlighted as an exceptional representation of architectural design by the A' Design Award. East Sea Villa won the Iron A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2020. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is a juried, academic and highly prestigious design accolade that honors excellent design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
