Link To The World
Link To The World is a residential interior design for a 35 square meter apartment in New Taipei City. Instead of a traditional television wall, a world map is placed at the entrance as the main feature. The map was made by laser cutting a metal board, and the size of each opening reflects the activity and density of people in that location. Light glimmers through the openings, recalling the night view of the earth. Acrylic marks note places the resident has visited. Sliding partitions allow the space to suit one person or a larger group.
Link To The World Residence by I-Te Yeh was identified as a grand example of architectural design by the A' Design Awards. Link To The World Residence earned the Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2020. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is a highly prestigious international design competition that recognizes superior design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
