In the Light
In the Light is a residential apartment interior of 245 square meters in Taichung City, Taiwan. The interior follows a modern light luxury style. The original entryway sat directly beneath the staircase and felt oppressive, so the television wall was rearranged to the side of the staircase. Artistic stone separates the entryway, the hallway and the television wall. A cloakroom near the entrance adds storage. An open parlor and an expanded dining area bring daylight into the living room, and borrowed scenery extends the indoor space toward the outdoor environment.
In the Light Residential Apartment by Yu Cheng Wang has been identified as an innovative illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Awards. In the Light Residential Apartment was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2020. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, jury-voted, fair and ethical design prize that celebrates superior design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
